EdgeRover™ Accounts

An EdgeRover account enables you to enjoy EdgeRover to the fullest. It keeps track of your storage products across your desktop, mobile, tablet, and web applications. An account is essential for you to stay ahead and have access to fantastic new features that are currently in development. We’re able to stay in touch with you about any updates and news through the app. The controls for these notifications are in App settings.

Note: Many products can use the same Western Digital account. For example, if you have a My Cloud™ Home, My Cloud OS 5, or SanDisk® ibi™ device, you can use your existing account to sign in to EdgeRover.

Creating an account

When you open EdgeRover for the first time, you’ll be prompted to create an account. To do so, follow these instructions:

  1. Tap Create account.
  2. Enter your email address and password.
  3. Tap Continue.
  4. Enter your first and last name, and then tap Continue. Personalizing your experience with EdgeRover is important to us, so we want to greet you by name each time you log in.

Deleting an account

If you’re considering deleting your EdgeRover mobile account, first back up your content to another device or, minimally, make sure you don’t have any critical data on the device.

Caution: If you delete your account, you’ll erase all of the content on your device.

To delete your account:

  1. Log out of all of your client accounts (e.g., web, mobile, cloud-based, etc.)
Important: When you delete your account, you’ll lose access to all of your network-attached storage (NAS) devices, such as SanDisk® ibi™, My Cloud™ Home, and My Cloud OS 5 in addition to the EdgeRover mobile app.
  1. Tap the Me tab, and then tap Edit on the top right of the page.
  2. Tap Delete account and EdgeRover asks you to confirm that you want to delete your account.
  3. Tap Request to continue and you’re taken to the Western Digital Support website.
  4. Tap Click here for instructions under EdgeRover.
  5. Tap the Me tab within the EdgeRover mobile app, and then tap Sign out. EdgeRover provides a notification message making sure you want to sign out.
  6. Tap Sign out.
  7. Tap Support to create a Support case and fill out the appropriate information. Provide the EdgeRover mobile account email address to be removed and Support will get back to you as soon as possible.
